Class IV High Powered Healing Laser

How does it work:

Laser Therapy delivers the necessary energy directly to the mitochondria. Mitochondria are often referred to as the cell's powerhouse they are vital to the healing process. By using High Power Laser Therapy the focused, high-energy light waves stimulate the mitochondria to produce the vitally important ATP, an energy rich molecule. This photochemical process completely bypasses the typical healing processes of glucose and oxygen provided by an arterial highway that is often times not available to tissues due to inflammation, damaged tissue, or blood vessels as a result of the injury or disease.

The Class IV High Power Laser can also aid in healing blood vessels by sending radiant infrared energy deep into the walls of the blood vessels. This improves the elasticity and function of the blood vessels. As the blood vessels become healthier the nerves begin to thrive.

Frequently asked questions:

How many treatments would I need?
The number of treatments will depend on the nature of the problem. When treating for pain due to inflammation, some experience relief after their first treatment, others will have gradual resolution of their pain. Wound healing depends on the depth and if there is a concurrent infection. Laser treatments may be used in conjuction with other treatments such as traditional wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to speed healing and for difficult to heal wounds.

Does insurance pay for laser treatments?
There is a procedure code that can be printed on a HCFA form to be submitted to your insurance carrier; however reimbursement would depend on the carrier and the type of coverage. The Center for Wellness does not contract with insurance companies nor are they Medicare providers.

Can it cause damage?
Not when treatments are performed by a skilled technician or physician. Specialty protective eye wear is required provided during treatments.

Will my other treatments or medications be affected by laser treatments?
Not likely as it often works in conjunction with most treatments; however your physician would need to have details of your current medical treatment and history to determine any contraindications.

Arrange for a consultation to discuss if the Class IV Healing Laser would be beneficial in your treatment. Should Laser treatment be appropriate in your care, your first treatment will be provided at no cost.
