HBO and Traumatic Brain Injury

Evidence is mounting that hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a key intervention in the treatment of traumatic brain injury. In this video watch Dr. Paul Harch's patient, Curt Allen make an incredible recovery in part due to HBO.  What a testimony to innovators such as Dr. Harch. Nutritional interventions may also play a key role in the support of the healing brain. In addition to HBO, we utilize a nutritional protocol designed to give the injuried brain its best chance of recovery.  Contact our office for more information.

Glutathione Autism

Michala's efforts on behalf of autistic children stem from her experiences with her youngest brother, Evan, 7. In February 2006, Evan, who is autistic, began receiving IV infusions of glutathione, a tri-peptide (three amino acids linked together). Prior to receiving the treatment, Evan was combative and needed speech therapy. Since being on the glutathione treatment, Evan is much more manageable and has made tremendous progress with his speech. His mother, Emlyn, credits Evan's improved ability to learn to the glutathione.

How much does conventional medicine really know?

That’s actually a great question, and it was originally posed, not by me, but by the journal BMJ Clinical Evidence.

They found that of about 2,500 treatments offered in conventional medicine:

  • 13 percent are beneficial to the patient
  • 23 percent are likely to be beneficial
  • 8 percent is a trade-off between benefits and harm
  • 6 percent are unlikely to be beneficial
  • 4 percent are likely to be ineffective or harmful
  • 46 percent have unknown effectiveness

States BMJ: “…the figures above suggest that the research community has a large task ahead and that most decisions about treatments still rest on the individual judgments of clinicians and patients.”

Through the years as a practitioner of strict conventional medicine, I often thought all the solutions to our problems were within our grasp in the realm of drug based medicine. I have come to realize the need for considering nutritional and environmental influences on disease ( which in the eyes of some fall outside the realm of "conventional medicine") is never more important than now.

In summary there is a 64 percent chance that the treatment will either be harmful, will have unknown effects, or will be ineffective. A concerning conclusion for those who place their sole trust in the strongly drug based American medical system. Click on the link for the full article.

Genetically Modified Foods

Are genetically modified foods safe? Take a look at this editorial from GEN. I'm not so sure. You're asking for trouble when you genetically engineer your soybeans to produce their own pesticides and when you introduce proteins that typically are not found in your foods.  These are often protein sequences your gastrointestinal tract may not used to seeing and ones which your immune system  may reject, leading to food allergies.

Do you really want socialized medicine?

There is a movement afoot to once again take care of Americans from the cradle to the grave. In the name of compassion the Democrats have an agenda to socialize medicine. While many of our problems in medicine have to do with a lack of compassion, socializing medical care will not fix the problem. It will ultimately limit our options and will be a great mistake. While I do not believe our system is perfect, and I do not support the mad rush to turn to drugs for every ill, socializing our system will have an entirely new set of problems and make the current problems worse. Your access to nutrients will likely go away completely or cost you 7 to 10 times what it currently costs at best and some medications may be impossible to obtain. If you’d like to see what’s happening in Canada with socialized medicine, watch this five minute video and then think long and hard about whether you really want this brand of healthcare in America.

Genetically Modified Foods and YOUR Future

You may know Monsanto for its role in those old chestnuts PCB, dioxin, and Agent Orange, poisons so pervasive and so stubborn they have spread their toxic stain from pole to pole.

But did you know the 100-year-old company is a major player in the GMO revolution? Under the plausible guise of eradicating world hunger with genetically modified seeds resistant to Round-Up, a best-selling herbicide it also developed, Monsanto has launched an insidious campaign to achieve worldwide market supremacy, regardless of the social cost to small farmers and rural economies.

It's all laid out in previously classified documents, and confirmed by scientists, politicians and victims. What the evidence suggests is that Monsanto has long waged a dirty war of pressure campaigns, corruption, collusion with government and prevarication, also known as big fat lies........

Pharmaceutical Grade Supplements

What are pharmaceutical grade supplements?

Pharmaceutical grade supplements are nutrients (minerals, amino acids, vitamins, fats, etc,) that are manufactured in a standardized, consistent and high-quality manner. Companies that make pharmaceutical grade supplements or nutrients are independently certified and inspected by a third party for good manufacturing practices.  In the nutrient industry, there are several third-party organizations that are known to evaluate and set this standard.

Why can’t I buy my supplements from the local supermarket?

Many supplements sold in supermarkets or drug stores, even some health food chains have fillers and allergens that a sensitive patient cannot tolerate. Additionally, there may be variability of active ingredients or impure fillers that can adversely affect your health or treatment outcomes.

Can I buy pharmaceutical grade supplements, myself, directly from the manufacturer?

As these supplements are higher in quality, consistency of product, improved absorption and thus companies and providers encourage maintaining the patient-provider-manufacturer connection. This is not meant to be punitive, but to ensure optimal guidance and clinical outcomes.
